The site and who runs it
topdatarooms.net is run by the Top Data Rooms editorial team. Anything about your data can be raised through the contact page, which reaches the same editors who write the lists.
Information that reaches us
- Your messages. Writing to the editors sends us the name, email address, subject and text you enter. We use them to answer you and for nothing else.
- Visit statistics. Analytics software notes which pages are opened, the rough region a visit comes from, the device and browser, the page that sent you here, and clicks or scrolls on our pages.
- Finder answers. The five finder questions are scored inside your browser. Your answers are not saved against your name.
No page on this site asks for card details, and personal data is never sold or rented.
Cookies and analytics
Two analytics tools run here: Google Analytics 4, set up with Consent Mode, and PostHog. PostHog can keep anonymised recordings of how a page was used; anything typed into a form is masked before it leaves the browser. Both start when you arrive. The cookie card at the bottom of the screen lets you switch them off, and the browser then remembers that decision in local storage as tdr_consent. With analytics off, Google Analytics no longer writes analytics cookies and PostHog is never started.
Session storage is also used for one small thing: making sure the finder panel opens at most once per visit.
Leaving through a partner link
A partner link sends you through a short redirect that adds referral details to the vendor’s address. From that point the vendor’s privacy policy covers what happens next.
How long data stays
Messages to the editors are kept while we deal with them and for no more than two years afterwards. Analytics records follow each tool’s retention setting, capped at 26 months.
Your choices and rights
Privacy law in your country may let you see, fix or erase personal data we hold, limit how it is used, or raise a complaint with your data protection regulator. Write to us and you will hear back within 30 days.
Services we rely on
Cloudflare hosts the site, Resend delivers email from the contact form, and Google and PostHog provide analytics. Each handles data for us under its own processing terms, sometimes in countries other than yours.
Revisions
When our practices change, this page changes too, and the revision date at the top moves with it.
